Senior Project Buyer

Strohm, based in IJmuiden, was the world's first manufacturer of Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) and remains the global market leader today. Our innovative pipes are corrosion-resistant, lighter and easier to handle than traditional steel or flexible pipes. Transported on large reels, they are used in offshore energy projects around the world.

You manage procurement for international projects, from tender to final delivery. Take, for example, a project awarded to Strohm by Petrobras in September, involving pipes for water injection and gas lift offshore Brazil, at a water depth of approximately 1,500 metres. Strohm delivers not only the pipes, but also qualification testing, engineering and offshore installation support. For challenging projects like these, you're the Buyer we need.

• You define the sourcing strategy for each project, select suppliers and negotiate prices, lead times and contractual terms.
• You get involved early, working closely with Engineering, Sales and Tendering. This ensures Procurement has a say even before a project is awarded.
• You manage supplier contracts throughout the project. If a supplier falls short on quality or on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery, you take action to get things back on track.
• You identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and take the initiative to make them happen. Procurement at Strohm is evolving as the company grows, and your experience will help shape its future.
• You'll work closely with the Technical Project Buyer as part of the Procurement team and report to the Procurement Manager.

• A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field;
• NEVI 2, Higher Professional Education (minor) in Procurement Management, or an equivalent procurement qualification;
• 5-10 years of experience as a Senior Project Buyer, Contract Manager or Senior Buyer within a complex technical or project-driven environment;
• Proven experience with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and procurement within EPC, offshore, manufacturing, or engineering industries;
• Knowledge of subsea, offshore, chemical processing, metalworking, or similar technical industries is highly preferred;
• Strong commercial awareness combined with excellent analytical and negotiation skills;
• The ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization while confidently challenging stakeholders when needed;
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in Dutch and English; additional languages are an advantage.
